Sea to Sky Rock Guiding Service is a small guiding operation based in Squamish BC Canada. I want to offer best service that I can to my clients in guiding, education, and safety. My mission is to operate at a small scale, putting client care and focus as the main priority. I’ll work with you one on one from the booking process to our day out on the rocks.

A Little About Me

Hello! My Name is James I’m the sole guide for the company! I’ll give you a little bit of my backstory. I was born in Burlington ON. I learned to climb when I was 18 on the Niagara escarpment. I spent many years traveling to climb in the USA; Kentucky and West Virginia were some of my favorite spots to climb.

I graduated the Algonquin College Outdoor Adventure Program in 2017. After that I stared traveling more to climb and became inspired by the larger mountains in the west. Eventually I moved out to Squamish in 2020, got a job at Climb On Equipment and put myself through the ACMG rock guide program…a dream of mine! Fall 2023 I passed my last exam to become an ACMG Full Rock Guide!

What am I up to now? Last winter I spent ski patrolling in the Canadian Rockies! My spring and Fall I spend in Skaha (Penticton) where I guide and climb on amazing gneiss! The majority of the year I spend here in Squamish guiding and climbing on the epic granite!

Over the last few years I’ve been working hard to build my resume to enter the ski and Alpine guiding program! Hopefully if you enjoyed your time with me on the rocks I’ll one day be able to guide you in the alpine and through the powder! Stay tuned for updates!
